A Tribute to A Fallen Sodier

I received this link via email froward, and since I don't forward I thought I'd put it on my blog. It reminds me of the day they escorted Blake Stevens, a kid I knew in High school, through Bannock County in 2007. Calista and I watched the precession but until you witness a video like this one you don't get the whole story. It is sobering, yet beautiful and I cried through the whole video. Watch and you won't be disappointed...

“Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia .. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

The link above is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. Watch this if you wish to have your faith in America restored.”
